Barnali’s engagement with music-based wellbeing initiatives grows from this understanding of sound as a deeply human form of connection.
Her participation in international initiatives associated with the United States and Bangladesh has explored how music can contribute to spaces of positivity, reflection and emotional wellbeing.
In these settings the concert conventions fall away. What remains is the oldest function of music: to gather people, to hold attention gently, and to make a difficult hour a little easier to be inside.
